Do you
run a blog and searching for ways in which you could use to drive an insane amount
of traffic to your blog thereby increasing your income? If this is what you
want then you should read this article to the end as I highlight how you can
make these possible.
One of
the things that come to my mind almost every day when I get up from my bed is
“How can I grow my blog traffic”.
Let’s
face it there is the question that runs through the minds of every blogger most
especially new bloggers.
The main goal of every blog should first be to write content that its readers would
find valuable and in turn make money through different means but that won’t be
possible without having a reasonable amount of traffic.
The
revenue gotten from your blog is solely determined by the amount of traffic you
are able to drive to your blog.
Now the
question is what are you going to do to attract more traffic to your blog?

A lot
of people believe is focusing solely on SEO to drive traffic to their blog
while some others prefer to use social media as a strategy for growing their
blog traffic and they both work fantastic.
Believe
me, it can be really tiresome when you think of the work that needs to be put
in to get your contents out there so people can start visiting your blog.
This particular blog is new with not more than 10 content and it really has not been
easy to drive traffic to it. But the thing is the more I keep searching for
solutions and applying them the more the blog traffic keeps increasing.
All
the traffic strategy that I will be sharing with you today is something I have
learnt and tried and is helping me grow my blog rapidly.
The sad truth about blogging I have learnt so far is that it takes time and
consistency for you to be able to grow your blog.
If you
are just starting out, I suggest you focus on creating and publishing quality
contents and if you are able to get your first 100 visitors you should focus on
making those 100 visitors keep coming back to your blog before you think of
getting more traffic.
The one thing I know for sure is that there are specific traffic for every niche so not
all traffic is meant for you.
You
have to also figure out where your niche traffic hangout and target them.
If you
run a blog on how to lose weight and you looking for traffic in a place where
people are searching for information on how to make money online trust me you
never going to get any traffic.
The
more targeted traffic you are able to drive to your blog will determine the income you get from your blog.
It is
estimated that there are over 400 million blogs that are active across all the
different niches and the possibility of seeing hundreds of thousands of blogs
that are related to your niche is high.
Don’t
let that discourage you, all you need to ask yourself is how you can look for a
way to make your blog stand out from the rest so as to be able to get the most
traffic in your niche.
Here
are 8 strategies you can start using today to grow your blog traffic
Write Quality Content
The old saying that content is king is still applicable today.
The reason is that when someone visits your blog expecting to find a solution to
whatever problem they have and not find anything useful, they will leave and
never come back.
Sometimes,
it is not about the number of traffic that comes to your blog that really but
how long they are able to stay on your blog.
This
is really important if you want Google to consider ranking your high to get
those free traffic.
Imagine
you have written a high-quality content and someone visits your blog and find
that content helpful, what do you think they would do? Chance of them sharing
your content with the rest of their friends is high which in turn will increase
your blog traffic.
For
you to be able to write quality content for your blog, I advise that you do a
proper research on any topic you have chosen to write about and make sure you
cover it to the smallest detail.
Use The Right Grammars In Your Content
We all
know that no one is perfect when it comes to writing in English but whenever
you writing a content online that has the capacity to be seen by thousands of
people you want to make sure that your grammars are current and your mistakes
such as misspellings are brought to a minimal.
Imagine
visiting a blog post and you start noticing errors like misspellings from the
beginning of the post till like the middle what would you do? Chances are you
will skip to another blog to get the information you need.

When I
write content for my blog and since I know that the chances of me making
mistakes are high, after writing my content I have to proofread it both manually
and using some tools. Though you might still find some mistakes but it won’t be
very obvious.
There
are tools you can use and one that I use and recommend to everyone is
grammarly. This tool helps identify misspellings in articles and provides the
right spellings.
Use Attractive Images/Headlines
How
many of you have ever bought something online and when it gets delivered to
you, you then find that is was not exactly what you were hoping for? Do let me
know in the comment section.
The
image of the product you saw online was the main reason why you bought it in
the first place and this also works for blogging.
Since
the Stone Age what man sees has always been one of the driving force that has
made them take any action.
Since
this is like the first thing people see before reading your quality content,
you want to make sure that it is as attractive as possible.
The internet has made it easy for us to get different images that can be used in
our contents from Google, unsplash, and so on.
The one thing I have found out when it comes to images that really works is using images
or backgrounds with text on it.
Sites
like canva.com can be used to add text on images for your blog post.
Optimize Your Content
SEO is
one of the best ways to get an insane amount of traffic to your blog without you
spending a dime.
This
is made possible by different search engines ranking your contents high when
someone searches for a keyword related to your topic.
Now
“keyword” is the main focus when you want to make your contents SEO friendly.
I know
most of you already know what that is but let me just stress it again.
If you
are into the health niche and let say you wrote content on how to lose weight in
eight days, your focus keyword would be “lose weight” so when someone searches
for how to lose weight Google will scan through the various blog post on that
keyword and probably rank yours higher which will, in turn, drive traffic to your
blog.
The
keywords you want to rank for should be inserted in your title, image alt,
description and in your contents.
When
it comes to SEO, you can’t just start putting the keyword in every sentient of
your content just to rank for it, Google will flag your blog.
For my SEO, I use the Yoast SEO plugin for
wordpress to get my SEO right.
Employ Other Sources
It is
good as a blogger you consistently write contents for your blog but you are
also given the opportunity to leverage other sources to get your contents out
there.
This
other sources include Video and Podcast.
Video
With
the number of time people spend in watching videos on YouTube and other social
media platforms, it is safe to say that video is gradually taken over.
This
is not to say blogging will die anytime soon but you can add videos to drive
traffic to your blog.
Videos
has the capacity to drive traffic to your blog thereby increasing sales and ads
revenues.
With a website like YouTube which is the second largest search engine in the world,
you can use the platform to drive traffic to your blog and also turn it into
another source of income stream for your business.
Podcast
Since
majority of people are always on the move and may not have time to go through a blog post or watch a video you can leverage podcasting.
This
involves you creating your contents in an audio format so people can listen to
you while they drive or perform other activities as they go along their day to
day activities.
You
can choose any of them to grow your blog traffic.
One of
my secret mentor pat Flynn who runs
smartpassiveincome.com uses both methods and is driving an insane amount of
traffic to his blog.
Use Social Media And Forums
Social
media is one of those places on the internet you find lots of people hanging
out all day and use can drive traffic from there.
One of
the advantages of going social is that you can drive traffic to your blog
without spending a dime.
When
it comes to using social media as a blogger, there is one thing I need to let
you know which is you don’t have to be on every social media website.
If you
decide to participate in every social media platform out there you will not have
time to write your contents and do other things.
All
you have to do is focus on the ones you know your traffic hangs out.
Forums
are also a great place you can drive traffic to your blog as that is where most
people go to ask questions and you can briefly answer their questions while
you add a link to your content if you have written on that topic or something
similar.
Build Your Email List
This
is one of the surest ways of keeping up with both old and new customers.
When
anyone signs up for your newsletter, you can be rest assured that they are
interested in whatever you have to offer.
There
are lots of sites out there that you can use to start collecting emails on your
blog and most allow you to collect up to 2,000 emails for free.
Use Paid Ads
It
does not hurt to once in a while use paid advertisement to boost your traffic.
Getting
organic traffic through SEO and social media takes time but with the use of
paid advertising, you can start getting visitors to your blog in no time.
The good thing about paid advertising is that you don’t have to break your bank
to get it done, with as low as $5 you can run ads on Facebook.
Using
the Google ads program and other social media advertisement website you can
start driving traffic to your blog.
When
using social media, you will have to first figure which social media platform
those interested in your niche hang out so you can start targeting them with
paid advertisement.
